Strong people stay
young! Research by
Dr Miriam Nelson
created worldwide
news when the
results were
published in the
journal of American
Medical Association
in 1994. Her study
showed that after a
year of strength training twice a week, women's bodies were
15-20 years more youthful.
This was measured by the fact that
they had more muscle and less fat,
bone loss was prevented or reversed,
their strength and energy increased
dramatically, and they showed
surprising gains in balance and
flexibility.
Strength training doesn't necessarily
mean bodybuilding to immense
proportions. Some people want bulk,
some want definition, others simply
want to be able to lift their children or
take out the trash without hurting
their back. Be sure to know what
you want from your workout, then
take appropriate action.
Getting strong is not just for bodybuilders anymore, it's a
very important part of a well-palanced lifestyle. Enjoy the
journey!
