The Anatomical Chart Company in Skokie,
Illinois, has its origins in the charts
meticulously painted by the medical
illustrator Peter Bachin during the 1940s
and 50s. Bachin, born in Austria in 1897,
came to America by hiding
between potato sacks on a
ship.
Approximately three
years were spent painting
each of the 5 original
anatomical charts in the collection, of
which the Skeletal System and Muscular
System remain our best-selling charts. In
the 1960s, after the death of Peter Bachin,
his widow sold the charts to Marshall
Cordell who had worked for the Bachin's. In
1971, Cordell started The Anatomical Chart
Company.
In the 25 years since,
the original chart line grew
into over 100 anatomical
charts covering a wide
variety of subjects
including Carpal Tunnel Syndrome,
Epilepsy, Cholesterol, Alzheimer's
Disease, AIDS, and even Keys to Healthy
Eating!
The 1998-99 Anatomical Products
Catalog not only features the educational
chart line (including charts on nutrition and
fitness), but also
life-size anatomical
models, a wide variety
of skeleton and skull
models including
natural human bone,
acupuncture models,
and models of specific systems (such as
Digestive or Vascular), organs, joints and
spines--just to name a few.
Body Trends is proud to offer the entire
